Willow Round Basket Workshop

Basket maker Jilly Greig will teach you how to construct a willow base for your round basket, and how to insert uprights to bring up to form the sides of the basket. Then you will learn how to weave a waling weave and laydown a border.

If you are a total beginner, you will make a berry basket with a handle, or an egg basket. If you are further along on your weaving journey you can make a fruit or bread basket using more complex weaves and border.

Wear old clothes, bring an old sheet or towel to wrap your willow in during the day. Bring a pack lunch.

East Saltoun is not well served by public transport, so cars are essential. Free parking in surrounding streets and in village hall grounds.
