Willow Weaving Beginners Round Basket
Learn to weave your own beautiful round basket using traditional willow techniques in this hands-on, nature-inspired workshop.
Join us for a relaxed, hands-on workshop where you'll learn the art of willow weaving and create your very own round basket to take home.
Using sustainably sourced willow, you’ll be guided you through traditional techniques step-by-step—from forming the base to shaping the sides, how to create a track border, and finishing with how to peg a sturdy handle. Depending on your personal pace, you may also manage a more elaborate woven handle and border.
Perfect for beginners and those looking to reconnect with natural craft practices, this workshop is a beautiful way to slow down, get creative, and make something both practical and timeless.
All materials are provided, along with warm drinks and good company, but please bring your own packed lunch to keep you going.
This is a hands-on, tactile craft that invites you to slow down and connect with the natural rhythm of weaving. While it’s beginner-friendly, do note that willow weaving requires some finger strength and dexterity.
Come weave with us and leave with new skills, earthy inspiration, and a handmade basket ready for gathering berries, herbs, or treasures from the wild, or storing your baked goods, breads, or fruits in.
What’s included:
- All willow materials and tools
- Full instruction and support
- Tea, coffee & refreshments
- Your completed round berry basket
No experience necessary—just bring your hands and curiosity. We'll break for lunch so do bring your own packed lunch with you, but teas, coffees and refreshments will be provided.
