Win Hill Guided Hike - Easy/Moderate
Join us for a fun guided hike to Win Hill and soak up the incredible views.
This Win Hill circular walk is a wonderful way to spend a few hours during the shorter dark days in January. With fantastic views over Ladybower Reservoir and the chance to see the plugholes, hopefully overflowing. Not only that, after a bit of a push, you will also bag one of the Peak District trig points and Ethels. The is a short steep ascent but there is no rush, we will go at the groups pace with plenty of stops if needed. There are no stiles on this route.
Your guide will be a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader with years of experience, Outdoor First Aid trained and fully insured.
Recommended Kit List:
Water bottle and snacks/lunch (flask if you'd like a hot drink)
Waterproof outerwear
Warm layers
Hat and gloves
Head torch
Hiking Boots or sturdy hiking shoes (while the route is steady, the ground will be uneven)
Personal first aid kit/medication (Guide will have a group first aid kit)
Sit mat (optional)
Whilst refunds aren't given if you can no longer make it, you can pass your ticket onto someone else and let me know or contact me at least 24 hours before the event to transfer the booking for a different event. We walk in most weathers however in the event that I deem it too dangerous, 2 further dates will be offered.
FAQ
Will there be a toilet?
There are toilets available at the start and finish point. While there are no toilets on this route, Ginette will be able to point out suitable spots for a wild wee.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they are on the lead around livestock. Ginette’s dog Cookie regularly has ‘take your dog to work’ days and may attend. If any participants have a dog allergy, this will be mentioned to dog owners at the start of the hike.
What will the pace be?
The pace will be steady; the aim is that all participants enjoy themselves. No one will be left behind.
What if I am worried about my fitness levels?
Please feel free to get in contact if you are concerned about this and I will be able to advise you on a personal level. I run a range of hikes with varying levels of ability in the aim that there is something for everyone as one of my goals is to enable people to access the outdoors safely so that we can all get back to nature.
