Join Wallace Sewell for another journey of colour, composition, and creativity, led by Emma Sewell! AM and PM sessions available.
Every one of our collections begins with a spark of inspiration, often a painting, which then evolves through the meticulous and beautiful process of yarn winding. While windings are an essential tool for developing our signature textiles, they are also stunning decorative objects and works of art in their own right.
In this hands-on workshop, we invite you behind the scenes to learn our distinctive approach to design and create your own windings under expert guidance.
What to Expect
This session is designed to be approachable, relaxing, and deeply inspiring. During the evening, you will
Interpret Art through Yarn: Learn how to translate an initial artwork or concept into a tangible textile palette.
Master the Winding Technique: Emma and Cara will guide you through the physical process of winding, sharing practical tips on tension and layout.
Explore Colour Theory: Discover how the proximity of different hues can drastically alter a design. As Cara explains, "the position of the colour... can massively affect the colours around it.
Create Your Own Work: Take home your own unique yarn windings, designed and made by you.
