<h2>T﻿hursday 22 June, 1﻿1am - 1pm</h2><h2>L﻿ecture Theatre A</h2><h2>Free and open to all!</h2><p></p><p>‘Reimagining Our Future’ is a celebration of the Windrush legacy featuring music, storytelling, discussions, and the presentation of a new short documentary film.  </p><p>Taking place at London College of Communication, UAL on Thursday 22 June, 11am-1pm, the event is taking place as part of the national celebration of Windrush 75th Anniversary supported by the National Windrush Museum. </p><p>‘Reimagining Our Future’ includes a screening of new Windrush 75 short documentary film ‘Inner Journeys: Levelling the Playing Field’; a storytelling provocation with music from storyteller Peter Badejo OBE; and contributions from students, alumni and staff from London College of Communication. </p><p>The event is presented by London College of Communication, UAL in collaboration with the National Windrush Museum, The Africa Centre, and Black Cultural Archives.</p><h2></h2><h2>Programme</h2><h3>11am: Welcome </h3><p>Maureen Salmon, Curator </p><p>Kene Igweonu, Pro Vice Chancellor &amp; Head of College, London College of Communication </p><p></p><h3>11.10am: Storytelling Provocation with Music </h3><p><strong>Reformation – Resolution – Reconciliation </strong></p><p>How the Windrush generations influenced the moment we stand in now.</p><p>From the start of the Windrush period there has been an unconscious progression through Reformation – Resolution - Reconciliation (3Rs) in the existence of the people in their places in the UK. They have been reformed by the influences of their new environments. Drawing strength from the unwavering support of his tight-knit family, he wants to explore and seize all the creative possibilities in front of him. </p><p>Noa has been singing for as long as she can remember. Now, she has decided to focus all her energy on her music. </p><p>Moses is an artist working towards his gallery debut. </p><p>Throughout the documentary, they uncover the many expressions of their deep connection to their Windrush heritage. This work will continue to develop as part of the Black History Month, October 2023.
