Lodovico Antinori is a visionary and one of Italy’s most influential winemakers. He grew up in the famous Antinori family (which spans 700 years of winemaking) and is behind the creation of Masseto and Ornellaia.
He now owns vines right next to Bolgheri. Here, helped by old friend and successful Bordeaux oenologist Michel Rolland, Lodovico has created a new Tuscan legend and named it after himself. When famous oenologist Andrei Tchelitcheff (a mentor to many winemakers who helped define California’s finest wines) visited the estate a few years ago, he persuaded Lodovico to stay in the area and told him to "Stay here, young man, you have the Eldorado here".
Alongside Lodovico, he produces a stunning rose, named after his daughter Sof.
The lunch will take place in our charming garden rooms at Petersham Nurseries. Tariq Khan, our Private Sales Manager and ex Sommelier at The Fat Duck will take you through a vertical tasting of Lodovico with each wine carefully paired with a delightful menu crafted by our executive chef.
