Winter Pruning Workshop
Overview

A workshop to learn how to prune your apple and pear trees so that they are in good fettle for the coming growing season

A hands-on workshop on winter pruning of fruit trees in Tyninghame Organic Orchard. We will run through the principles of pruning; achieving the desired shape, maximising fruit production and minimising disease. Our focus will be on pear and apple trees, with some reference to plums.

The workshop will include practical demonstrations and a chance to try out pruning yourself. If you have a pair of sharp bypass (not anvil) secateurs, please bring them along.

The workshop will be run by two experienced fruit growers: Daniel Wight who manages Tyninghame Organic Orchard and Naomi Barnes who has looked after the fruit trees for many years at Belhaven Community Garden.

Places are limited so please book promptly to avoid disappointment.
