Winter Solstice Death Meditation: A Descent into Stillness

Winter Solstice Death Meditation: A Descent into Stillness

Hastings Museum & Art GalleryHastings, England
Saturday, Dec 20 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm GMT
Overview

Come join us for a peaceful and introspective gathering with guided meditation to explore your own mortality at Durbar Hall in Hastings.

As the light wanes and the year folds into darkness, we are invited to pause — to rest in the fertile quiet of the longest night. The Winter Solstice marks both an ending and a beginning, a time to honour what has fallen away and to prepare the ground for what may yet emerge.

This guided Death Meditation offers a space to meet impermanence with tenderness. Together, we will explore gentle reflection, breath, and deep rest — a contemplative journey into the mystery of endings, grief, and renewal.

Through stillness and simple ritual, we will:
🌙 Reflect on the cycles of death and rebirth within and around us
🕯️ Honour what has completed or been lost this year
🌾 Invite release, forgiveness, and quiet integration
💫 Welcome the returning light — and the possibility of new beginnings

This is a softly held space for anyone seeking connection, healing, or reflection at this threshold of the year. No prior experience is needed — just an openness to listen deeply to the wisdom that winter brings.

Please bring:

  • Something to lie or sit comfortably on (a yoga mat, blanket, or cushion)

Facilitated by: Katie Rose and Ruby Love, End of Life Doulas and proud members of End of Life doula UK .

Spaces are limited to keep the circle intimate.
Book early to reserve your place.
