- No pressure—just encouragement and creative space
👩🏽🤝👩🏾 Who Is This For?
Women who want to:
- Heal emotionally, spiritually, and mentally
- Learn to thrive beyond trauma
- Explore creativity and storytelling
- Connect with a supportive community
Why is it needed?
- Prevalence: ~1 in 4 women in England & Wales have experienced domestic abuse since age 16. Annual victims: roughly 1.6 million women were estimated to have experienced domestic abuse in the year ending March 2024.
- Health impact: A large proportion of those women will experience mental or physical health consequences (depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, higher cardiovascular risk, TBI in some cases). academic reviews show clear, significant increased risks.
- Delayed symptoms: Some survivors develop symptoms months or years later — delayed-onset PTSD is uncommon overall (~5–6% across trauma studies) but can represent ~20–25% of PTSD cases when it does occur.
🗓 How It Works
- Sessions run fortnightly
- Choose between Day 1 or Day 2 or both
- Book through Eventbrite each fortnight (new slots drop fortnightly—follow us to be notified)
- Flexible attendance: come every week or as often as you’re able
- Expect a safe, non-judgmental environment with a mix of group discussions, reflective practices, and creative expression, to include: mind maping, vision board and manifestation of goals.
Day 1
This day focuses on laying the foundatio for the group by creating safety, trust and openness. Women are welcomed into a supportive space where ground rules of confidentiality and respect are established.
Participants explore their identity beyond the echo of abuse and negative labels, sharing experiences.
The group engages in somatic breathing exercises and reflective exercises to identify current self labels and examine where those voices come from: themselves, the abuser or society.
Journaling and group sharing help deepen self-awareness, while pair activities provide encouragement and support.
Between sessions, participants are encouraged to reflect daily.
What we covered in week one
Somatic Breathwork for calming the mind but also unlocks deep layers of healing within your body.
Choosing one word which describes how ou felt stepping into the space that day.
Choose 3 positive words from a list that describes you - not what your family thinks, your partner or what the world thinks
Group discussion on forms of domestc abuse. Often what we think is not abuse, actually is.
