Overview
Children will be guided through 4 stages to help them answer maths problems, building their confidence to become a fearless mathematicians.
When it comes to word problems, translating a written phrase into a mathematical expression is the top area of difficulty for children between ages 9-11. This workshop will help children to:
- Solve addition and subtraction multi-step problems in contexts, deciding which operations and methods to use and why.
- Solve problems involving multiplication and division.
- Solve problems involving using decimal notation up to three decimal places where appropriate.
