Want to make your website or blog? Come to our free WordPress workshop at Withington Library! It's perfect for everyone, even if you've never built a website. We'll teach you how to create a website with WordPress and the Divi Builder, make it look how you want, and keep it running smoothly. Whether you're just starting out or already know a bit about websites, you'll learn something new. Plus, you can meet other people interested in WordPress! We'll see you there!

Requirements

This workshop will guide you through building a WordPress website. We'll be using web hosting, which means your website will be live on the internet. You'll have the option to set up your own web hosting account during the workshop, but it's not required. If you choose not to set up hosting, you can still follow along and learn the process.

For those who WANT to set up their own web hosting (Optional):

To create your web hosting account during the workshop, you will need the following:

1. Email Address: A valid email address that you can access during the workshop. This will be used to create your hosting account and for important notifications.
2. Domain Name Idea (Optional): A domain name is your website's address (e.g., www.yourwebsite.com). Think about what you'd like your website address to be. We can help you check if it's available during the workshop. Note: Domain names also typically involve a small annual fee. You can choose to register a domain later if you prefer.

For ALL participants (whether or not setting up hosting):

1. A Laptop or Tablet (Recommended): While not strictly required, bringing your own device will allow you to actively participate in the hands-on exercises. If you don't have a device, you can still follow along with the instructor.
2. Enthusiasm and a Willingness to Learn! We'll be covering a lot of information, but we'll take it step-by-step. Come ready to learn and ask questions!
