Are you a knowledge mobiliser with a Combined Authority (CAs) in your region? Are you a researcher with relevant expertise that could enable CAs to make better evidence informed policy?

Combined Authorities are here to stay. They are critical to driving growth. Some CAs benefit from excellent relationships with universities in their locality. As English devolution expands across the country, over half of England’s population lives within a CA.

There is an unprecedented opportunity for their local universities to develop their academic-policy engagements relationships as the CAs evolve. On a strategic level, universities are already driving those relationships. On a practical level, how can knowledge mobilisers work with CAs to support evidence-informed policy?

In UPEN’s latest webinar, you will hear insights from one of the most established CAs, West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCC) and of the newest CAs, East Midland Combined County Authority (EMCCA) with a policy actor reflecting on those insights and signalling the wider considerations on how devolution might evolve.

Please note this event will take place at 12.00 on 29 October.

Speakers:

  • Chair - Andy Mycock, Cross-Cutting Programmes Lead (Place), UPEN Programmes
  • Shelley Harrod, Head of Research and Intelligence, East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA)
  • Si Chun Lam, Head of Research, Intelligence and Inclusive Growth, (WMCA)
