The complexities of family life can be difficult to manage, but with the right support primary carers can help children thrive.

This is a two day course in person


Introduction

This course is designed for professionals who work with families facing multiple and complex challenges. Whether you’re in social care, education, health, or another public service, your role in supporting parents and primary carers can make a life-changing difference.

You’ll learn practical strategies to empower families, improve outcomes, and create lasting positive change.


Learning Outcomes:

This course will help you understand:

  • The principles and values that underpin work with parents
  • The nature of an effective relationship with parents
  • How barriers to participation for parents can be overcome
  • How to negotiate and/or agree the basis of relationships with parents
  • How to maintain the relationship with parents
  • You will also, reflect on your own practice when working with parents


You will be send a short pre-read to reflect on prior to the start of the course.
