Working with Live Audio Workshop (P.M. Session) Wolverhampton Arts Centre

Wolverhampton Arts CentreWolverhampton, England
Saturday, Mar 14 from 12:15 pm to 3:45 pm
Overview

An introduction to the fundamentals of audio engineering and harnessing live sound.

Honey Box Live's Amplifying Grassroots Talent Development Days are a way to grow your knowledge and experience through workshops run by industry professionals!

---

This is a taster workshop that covers a variety of different topics needed to understand working with live audio led by Joe Barber, a seasoned sound engineer and audio technician actively working in the live audio industry. This is an opportunity to get behind the desk as we explore how to make a band sound great, approach effective stage setup, create a strong live mix, how frequency affects delivery, what feedback is, and how to avoid it.

---
Before the workshop we'll host an industry guest talk over lunch (which will be provided).
Please ensure that you can attend the talk and whole workshop before you book.

---
We're thrilled to be hosting BBC Introducing's Andrew Marston as our industry guest speaker:
Andrew Marston is a BBC DJ, radio presenter, and music producer with over 25 years’ experience shaping new music across the UK. He is best known for discovering artists such as Ellie Goulding, Becky Hill, and 220 Kid, and for his long-running BBC shows that reach over 100,000 listeners each week.

A seasoned DJ, Andrew has performed at clubs, festivals, and events across the UK and Europe—from Ibiza to village halls, châteaux to riverboats, and festivals with audiences of up to 20,000 people. He has held residencies at multiple venues in the Midlands and continues to host stages, monthly recording sessions, and live sessions for emerging artists.

---

Attendance at Amplifying Grassroots Talent events is completely free, thanks to the support of our partners and funders. However, each event is resource-intensive to produce and places are limited. We kindly ask that you only book if you are confident you can attend, so that we can make the most of the opportunity for everyone involved.---
