    About this event

The aim of the session is to give you the techniques you need to have positive conversations that create opportunities for you and your organisation. It will give you skills to ask for what you need clearly and compassionately, to listen effectively, and it will give you the skills to find practical, positive ways to move your ideas forward collaboratively.

The skills you learn will be transferable to many situations in your life and will give you the confidence you need to be able to negotiate new relationships and developments. You'll leave this workshop with:

    • Skills and awareness around negotiating and boundary setting
    • Understanding of active listening skills and how they can help you
    • Ideas of how to implement a solutions focussed approach to your conversations.

This workshop will be delivered online and the Zoom link will be sent through to registered attendees 1-2 days beforehand.

This workshop will be delivered by Jess Holliland. Jess is a coach and consultant who works specifically with social purpose organisations. Her practice is wide ranging and aims to help people unravel challenges and overcome barriers, but she has a particular interest in communication and how we can talk about our projects and intentions in a way that helps us make the most of our opportunities.

She has been working with the VCSE in the south west for about a decade and is currently part of the team at the School for Social Entrepreneurs delivering workshops to entrepreneurs from Cornwall to Scotland, as well as working regularly with a number of Plymouth social purpose organisations on their governance, messaging and communications.
