A workshop series from Communities Creating Homes, your Community-Led Housing Hub for Wales

Communities Creating Homes, your Community-Led Housing hub for Wales, are happy to bring you a series of workshops exploring the process of planning, design and building from conception to completion on site. These workshops link to Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Plan of work stages which is commonly used by architects and professionals to describe the stages of construction projects.We will introduce each stage helping you to navigate the RIBA plan of work and how the Communities Creating Homes programme can help you progress with your Community-Led Housing ideas at each point.You should attend these workshops if you:•	Are a group that has come together to develop Community-Led Housing for themselves and local people.•	Want to know more about Community-Led Housing and the support available.•	Are part an existing Community-Led Housing scheme that wants to refresh their skills or upskill in preparation to expand and grow.This is a series of five workshops, and you should confirm your attendance of each workshop separately following the links below.Workshop 1:15 April 2021 – An introduction to the RIBA plan of work, Community-Led Housing total process and the stages of the Communities Creating Homes programmes.<a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/workshop-2-developing-community-led-housing-from-conception-to-completion-tickets-145687781075">Workshop 2</a>: 22 April 2021 – RIBA stages 0 &amp; 1 Strategic Definition &amp; Preparation and Briefing. This workshop will help you develop your vision and prepare a brief for your project including setting objectives, project viability and your group roles and responsibilities.<a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/workshop-3-developing-community-led-housing-from-conception-to-completion-tickets-145690310641">Workshop 3</a>:29 April 2021 – RIBA stages 2 &amp; 3 Concept Design &amp; Spatial Co-ordination. This workshop is all about visualising your site, bring your ideas into a realistic plan for the site including design specifications, preparing for planning applications and considering costs.<a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/workshop-4-developing-community-led-housing-from-conception-to-completion-tickets-145690617559">Workshop 4</a>:6 May 2021 – RIBA stages 4 &amp; 5 Technical Design &amp; Manufacturing and Construction. Our fourth workshop in our developing community-led housing series looks at refining designs to finalise specifications and moving onto construction.<a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/workshop-5-developing-community-led-housing-from-conception-to-completion-tickets-145694362761">Workshop 5</a>:13 May 2021 – RIBA stages 6 &amp; 7 Handover and Use.
