Read more about our first workshop here.
The workshop outlines how to enhance data story narratives using Python. It focuses on development of web-enabled applications (e.g., dashboards, interactive data visualisations) as effective tools to communicate data stories. The main premise is that interactivity and web-based applications increase specific audience’s engagement with a data story. Additionally, the workshop demonstrates how to leverage insight from machine learning modelling to develop and communicate data stories.
About the workshop content
The workshop will be delivered in computer practical format. Participants will be introduced to functionality of Python packages such as scikit-learn, dash, streamlit, widgets and viola. Workshop sessions will focus on:
- Interactive data visualization
- Widgets and dashboards
- Using machine learning insight for data storytelling
Full schedule and logistics details will be sent to participants upon registration. Post-workshop, participants will have access to online practice-led supplementary materials.
As this is a UKRI-funded project, travel within the UK and accommodation expenses will be covered. Further details will be provided closer to the workshop date.
Workshop convenor
