Join us for our Coping with Cyber Risk workshop with Professor Daniel Dresner.

If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of falling victim to a cyber incident, it’s important to have a coping strategy for recovery.

But trying to imagine what might be going on, what you might have lost – and what you might still lose – is probably not something you want to experience for real the first time it happens.

Coping with Cyber Risk is a ‘safe-space’ exercise where you can experience the complexities of a cyber incident, turn detective to work out what’s happened, and offer an emotional inoculation against the trauma of the real thing.

About the Speaker:

Daniel is the first Professor of Cyber Security at the University of Manchester following 22 years with The National Computing Centre. He applies a diverse, community-based cyber security approach developing standards, championing SMEs’ cyber security for which he co-founded IASME, and works to find sociotechnical balance between people and technology.

Daniel's Manchester cyber ecosystem activity furthers cyber innovation and growth at DiSH – Digital Security Hub – and steering cyber outreach from the University’s Centre for Digital Trust and Society. Daniel lectures on risk and cyber defence to Chevening cohorts from India and Western Balkans, and revived the cybernetics thought-leadership Ratio Club.

Daniel was voted a top 20 cyber security influencer worldwide 2018-2021 and Security Serious Awards Best Educator 2022.
