A hidden gem at the heart of Manchester’s creative Northern Quarter, Manchester Craft & Design Centre is home to 18 studios housing 30+designer-makerswho design, create and make a variety of handmade work, from textiles and ceramics to pewter and paint, all of which can be bought on-site from the maker themselves in their independent and unique studios which areopen to the public six days a week*Alongside this MCDC hosts an innovative and excitingexhibitions and events programme, showcasing the best of contemporary craft and design from both established and emerging talent. Manchester Craft & Design Centre

Exploring socially engaged practice with Pure Art Studio and Manchester Craft &amp; Design Centre Join members of Pure Art Studio, artist Laura Negus and Manchester Craft &amp; Design Centre for a 3 hour workshop of making, sharing and networking. This workshop is aimed at artists with a socially engaged practice and those looking to work in this area. The session will incorporate creative activities that explore connection, practice and values and the opportunity to meet members of Pure Art Studio, hear about their work and their experience of working in collaboration. The workshop will draw upon learning gained during Creative Share, a project delivered by Pure Innovations in collaboration with artist Laura Negus, Manchester Museum and Manchester Craft &amp; Design Centre. Creative Share is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. To increase capacity, we will be running this event twice. You do not have to attend both sessions as the content will be the same.
