About this event

Arts • Craft

Join us for the opportunity to learn the basics of lino cutting and printing in this one-day workshop led by artist Julia Swarbrick. You'll learn how to plan and cut a design into a lino block and then use this to print with. You will be able to come up with your own design - something festive would be perfect for printing your own cards or gift tags for Christmas, although you do not need to to choose a festive design if you would prefer not to.

About the Artist

With over a decade’s expertise in designing and delivering visual arts workshops Julia is an artist primarily working as a painter-printmaker.

Bringing her art practise to a wide range of settings with a particular focus on the museum and the heritage sector which demonstrates her love of history and objects which tell a story.

Her approach combines the personal, the historical and the practical. There is a natural and growing flow between these different approaches which informs Julia's creative practise.

“I love to focus on the physical act of making and although I do use modern technology, I value the business of working directly with the hands and occasionally getting them dirty in the process.”
