DOORS OPEN - 18:00 | WORKSHOP STARTS - 18:30
Led by artist Rizza Zahid—whose practice centres on intricate ink drawings that weave surreal, psychologically charged imagery with everyday experience—this workshop focuses on harnessing the expressive qualities of line, tone and texture. Rizza’s work draws on human relationships and richly detailed mark-making informed by her South Asian heritage, working-class British life, and street and punk aesthetics.
Working from photographs of local streets, participants will craft ink drawings that balance observation and imagination. Guided exercises will help them embrace ink’s fluidity, using bold contrasts and expressive line work to convey atmosphere, emotion and meaning.
Open to all skill levels. Basic materials will be provided but participants are welcome to bring preferred pens, tools or photographs of street scenes to work from.
