This workshop will guide you through the creative and technical process of podcast-making: from shaping a concept to recording and editing your own episode. Whether you’re completely new to podcasting or already curious about developing your own format, this session will give you both inspiration and practical skills.

🕙 10:00 AM - Introduction & Inspiration
Get to know the RØDE podcast station at BlaBlaLab and join a live interview about the importance of makerspaces for creative and local communities; together with Baltan’s co-director Lorenzo Gerbi and Daan Willekens, director of Broet. Q&A is included!
🕚 11:00 AM - Exploring Formats & Sense-Making
Discover the wide landscape of podcast formats—interviews, fiction, reportage, experimental soundscapes. Participate in a sense-making exercise to reflect on your interests and decide what you’d like to work on. You can develop your concept individually or collaborate with fellow participants.
🕛 12:00 - 2:00 PM | Creation & Sharing
Bring your ideas to life using the podcast equipment. Learn the basics of editing your track with Audacity, an open-source software.
Wrap up with short presentations where everyone shares their pilot recordings. By the end of the workshop, you’ll know how to navigate your way around the world of podcasts and feel ready to start creating your own series.
About the Tutor
Pauline Vantilt is a social designer with a focus on playfulness and communities. She is co-founder of Demo, an Eindhoven-based placemaking initiative, and host of the podcast Communities in Eindhoven, which explores what the word “community” means to local residents.
