Workshop: Letterpress Printing

Create your own artwork out of vintage letter press blocks to celebrate 550 years since William Caxton brought the printing press to London.

Spend a relaxing evening within the historic, walled gardens of Westminster Abbey while creating your own time-travelling letterpress design.

Under the guidance of print maker Kate Guy, get creative and arrange carved letter and number blocks to produce your own striking image, words or poster.

About Kate Guy

Kate Guy is a London based printmaker and designer working with traditional techniques of linocut and letterpress.

She attended Wimbledon and Norwich Schools of Art to study Graphic Design, illustration and animation. After working in at Richard Williams' animation studio Kate has worked as a freelance artist and designer. She has extensive teaching experience having completed 12 years as Head of Art and Design at a North London secondary school. She now runs her own business ‘Kate Guy Prints’ selling her unique prints on paper and fabrics, and teaching printmaking workshops to small groups in London and the South of France.
