LearnAdapt is a collaboration between the FCDO, the Overseas Development Institute (ODI),Brink, andFeedback Labsto explore how to manage adaptive development programmes better. It draws on approaches from the development and tech sector including adaptive management, agile ways of working and lean startup.

A workshop to share and discuss the experiences, opportunities and challenges for facilitating local leadership during the Covid-19 crisis

We invite you to an interactive workshop to discuss physically-distanced adaptive management and innovation, co-hosted by <a href="https://twitter.com/emmaproud?lang=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Emma Proud</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/jamiepett?lang=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jamie Pett</a> from DFID’s <a href="https://www.odi.org/projects/2933-learnadapt-innovation-and-adaptation-dfid" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">LearnAdapt</a> programme.Right now teams are having to work remotely and can't get physically close to the people we are working with and for. Adaptive management depends on empowered teams that notice (and can act on) what’s happening on the ground. If teams can’t meet people in person, it’s hard to find out their perspective. Yet, in some cases Covid is shifting decision making, power and resources to teams closer to the issues.What opportunities and challenges do you see Covid-19 creating for the local leadership side of adaptive management? What are your experiences of experimenting with local leadership, reflecting and learning during the Covid-19 crisis?Join us for an interactive session where we will ask you to share and learn about how adaptive management facilitates local leadership in these times.Topics might include:<ul><li>Using tech to facilitate, not micromanage</li><li>Building trust and relationships</li><li>Shifting power and resources</li><li>Maintaining an adaptive mindset under pressure</li></ul>We hope that some of you will come ready to share a relevant example or challenge. We’re especially interested in hearing from colleagues from/in the Global South.
