Workshop: Somatic Movement

Join us for a somatic movement and breathwork workshop led by Sia Gbamoi, a trained psychotherapist and somatic practitioner.

Through a mind-body approach that emphasises awareness and control of bodily movements and sensations, we’ll explore how art can help us hold complex histories—of displacement, fragmentation, and repair—and invite us connect with ourselves and our communities.

The event begins with a curators’ tour of akâmi- and continues with a workshop rooted in care and accessibility. It will conclude with a reflection space, where participants can choose to journal privately or share in a facilitated circle.

Open to all with a particular focus on BIPOC adults.
