Workshop: Summer willow basket (BLC)

Lackford Lakes Nature ReserveBury St Edmunds
Saturday, Jun 13, 2026 from 9:30 am to 5 pm
Overview

Weave and unwind with local willow artist Jane Kelly, creating a small basket of your own

Weave and unwind on this course for beginners and improvers, perfect for gardeners! By the end of the day, you will have created a beautiful small frame basket in a flatter style with variety of potential uses including carrying cut flowers or garden vegetables.

No experience needed, but a degree of manual dexterity and finger strength is required to weave a small basket of your own.

Jane first learnt to weave with this wonderful, versatile natural resource as a volunteer host for Suffolk Wildlife Trust eight years ago and has been hooked ever since, running courses and extending her own repertoire.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. The café will be open from 10am-4pm, serving savoury food and sweet treats.

When booking please ensure your email/contact address is correct as it will be used to send event joining instructions. If you do not receive these instructions after booking, please contact: lackford.engagement@suffolkwildlifetrust.org

Please note that your booking is non-refundable and non-transferable and we run all our courses based on a minimum number of participants. You can find our full Terms & Conditions via this link: https://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/wildlearninginfo
