Ready to set sail around the world… with code? 🚤

In this hands-on technical workshop inspired by the Vendée Globe, you’ll build an asynchronous API capable of collecting, processing, and broadcasting real-time skipper positions. You’ll learn how to design a robust architecture using FastAPI, handle background tasks with async/await, and expose data through a REST API.

But that’s not all! You’ll also create a real-time dashboard to visualize the boat race live, using HTTP requests. This immersive workshop blends modern backend development, dynamic visualization, and real-time architecture.

What you’ll learn:

• Asynchronous API with FastAPI

• Background tasks & event handling

• HTTP requests

• Real-time data display via an interactive dashboard

Who it’s for: backend or fullstack developers, data engineers, data scientists and anyone curious about real-time applications.
