Join the London Sci-Fi & Fantasy Authors for an interactive workshop on worldbuilding that focuses on what actually matters in your story.
Join the London Sci-Fi & Fantasy Authors for an interactive workshop on worldbuilding that focuses on what actually matters in your story.
In this workshop we will explore a more pragmatic approach to worldbuilding, exploring how to create immersive, believable worlds without getting lost in unnecessary detail or endless lore. This workshop will help you focus on what actually matters on the page and how to make your world feel deep, lived-in, and compelling without overexplaining or overbuilding.
We’ll cover:
- How worldbuilding supports plot and character
- The “iceberg” approach to showing just enough
- Common worldbuilding myths (and how to avoid them)
- Practical techniques to create depth without overexplaining
The session will include both discussions and hands-on exercises, where you’ll apply these ideas directly to your own work. It is open to writers at all levels, whether you’re building your first world or refining an existing one.
We look forward to seeing you!
