O﻿ur events are ticketed with a solidarity pricing scheme. Those who can are encouraged to pay a little more, and those who can’t are encouraged to pay a discounted rate. The idea is that by paying on a sliding scale, we hope to foster more justice, equity and diversity in our food system and society.

Join us this May and June for workshops leading up to a big Worm Appreciation Day (because Worms Obviously Require Motivation Seasonally!) We will have practical, creative activities and opportunities to learn about the power of compost and worms.

<h4>A celebration of compost and worms for all ages with activities and performances including:</h4> Take a microscopic look at the happenings inside the Market Garden’s compost heaps with Scotland’s Plant Health Centre &amp; Lauriston Soil LabMake your own Ode to the Worms fridge magnet with collaged found text to prompt home kitchen appreciatingScreen printing with bio-based inkPin the Worm on the Parsnip game“Ceremonial” opening of our Open Flow Vermiculture Compost System with spoken word, worms, audio installation, big puppets, painting and more!Soup! Yum! This event is free, though places are limited, please book a place to help us with planning.W.O.R.M.S Appreciation Day is part of a year-long project supported by Scotland’s Plant Health Centre, who are working with us to develop plant health and biosecurity resources for the community. <h4>ACCESS</h4>This is an outdoor event in our Market Garden which has level yet rough terrain and can get muddy. For walkers, we recommend wearing suitable footwear and taking care, especially in wet weather conditions.The address is Lauriston Farm Road, Edinburgh EH4 5EX.The main entrance is at the back of the Toby Carvery car park - please don't use this for your vehicles, it is designated for Toby Carvery customers. It is a 10 minute walk across uneven terrain to the fenced in Market Garden from this access gate.No dogs will be permitted in the Market Garden for this event.Lothian Buses 16, 27, 29, 37 &amp; 47 all stop within 5 minutes of the farm.Please use public transport, walk, wheel or cycle to get to the farm whenever possible.There is very limited parking at the Market Garden - this is reserved only for those who need it as an access requirement - please email emma@lauristonfarm.org if you need to use it.
