Write by the River
What can the River Trent teach us about slowing down and reconnecting with ourselves?
If the River Trent could speak to us, what would it say?
What stories might it have to share from its ancient life in our city?
Has it been speaking to us this whole time?
Join Nottingham's Nature Poet Laureate, Cara Thompson, for a relaxed outdoor poetry workshop beside the River Trent. Through gentle writing exercises, sensory observation and creative prompts, you'll explore the river as both a place and a voice, while taking time to reflect, support your wellbeing and connect with the natural world.
Whether you're an experienced writer or putting pen to paper for the first time, this welcoming workshop offers space to write, share and discover, all inspired by one of Nottingham's most important natural spaces.
