The Intersection is a nonprofit social enterprise working towards CIC status.We support the wellness and spirituality of people who face marginalisation, who want to explore these aspects of their lives, and to develop ways to improve them, becoming empowered in their lives and in the context of all their identities. We use a variety of techniques and activities to help people explore what can bring them to, and support their wellness. This includes holistic therapies, and workshops and events on subjects such as nature connection, creativity, meditation and reflection, and other related activities.

Join us for one, some or all of three different, standalone sessions for LGBT+ adults to explore creative expression to support wellbeing.

Almanac Cafe

Join us for one, some or all of three different, standalone sessions for LGBT+ adults to explore creative expression to support wellbeing. We will start each session with an introduction to the topic, some grounding techniques, some creative writing warm up activities, and then we will head out for a walking-writing workshop to generate some more words, before coming back to the cafe to finish up and optional sharing of our pieces. This is an opportunity to connect, move gently, explore creativity, and support your wellbeing. No previous experience required. Participation is always at your own pace - there is no expectation to talk or share your writing. All materials provided. The sessions are standalone, but each one will be different; they are gently themed. you are welcome to attend one, some, or all. Themes:Session 1 (29th March) - Connection to placeSession 2 (11th April) - IdentitySession 3 - (19th April) - Sensory experience Dress appropriately for the weather and a gentle walk which may incorporate cobbles. We will have a private room, and Almanac cafe have gender neutral toilets. There are two sets of stairs to access the room. All sessions are FREE but you may wish to bring some money for a cake/cuppa in the cafe, or lunch if you choose to stay on. All sessions are neurodivergent friendly, trauma informed, and LGBT+ affirming. Please note these sessions are not therapy.
