This session is adapted from Shut Up And Write/Pomodoro academic writing models and offers participants a dedicated time/space to write. It can be difficult to find uninterrupted time and space for our writing and this method builds on the idea that short but intensive writing sessions can be productive. Articles, chapters, essays, reports, theses, novels, poems ... it doesn't matter what you're writing, as long as you come along and write!

FAQs

What do I need to bring?

You'll need to bring whatever you use to write (laptop/paper/pens/pencils) and any supplementary notes or materials. Bear in mind that you will probably be sharing a table with others so space will be limited.

I have a research student who would really find this useful. Can they sign up?

Not this time. This particular session is aimed at BCU staff for whom space and time to write can be difficult to find. (However, your student(s) can sign up for the companion event on 12 July - Research at Speed!)
