SPARK YOUR INSPIRATION AND EMBARK ON A PHILOSOPHICAL AND INTROSPECTIVE WRITING JOURNEY.

No writing or philosophy knowledge or experience necessary.

This is the last in a series of monthly expressive writing workshops (but you don't have to have attended the previous ones, so don't worry if you're coming for the first time) at Orchard Square. They're for anyone who enjoys (or thinks they might enjoy) writing for pleasure or to spark inspiration.

From November, a Therapeutic Creative Writing Group will take the place of this workshop.

Using prose excerpts, poetry, images and other prompts, this group invites you to explore your inner and outer worlds through writing, with the aim of deepening self-understanding and self-connection . Sharing your writing is always optional but the invitation is there to share and discuss your writing or discoveries with others.

The aim of the workshop is to help you to tap into your inner wisdom in order to improve the quality of your life in terms of enhancing its meaning and enjoyment. (While it's not the purpose of the workshop, some participants also find that it enhances aspects of their fiction and non-fiction writing life too (especially memoir writing)).

The facilitator, Emma Garrard, is a Biblio/Poetry Therapist with over 20 years' experience facilitating groups, who will safely and expertly guide you through the writing process.

What you will need: You don't need to bring anything but do feel free to bring preferred writing materials. Participants often have a journal for these sessions that they use every time, to contain all their hard won wisdom in one place!

Accessibility statement: The Writers Workshop’s space in Orchard Square, Sheffield, has no step-free access. If you have been excluded from this event due to inaccessibility, please let us know.
