N﻿ottingham Writers' Studio is a home for all writers. We are a not-for-profit writing community dedicated to building on and nurturing the city’s literary roots, and welcome writers of all levels and genres. We pride ourselves on fostering a friendly supportive community and providing opportunites for writers to meet up, collaborate and work together, working closely with local authors and workshop facilitators to help writers grow..

Award-winning, best-selling author Julie Cohen joins us for a talk about writers' block, what causes it and how we conquer it! 

<p>Julie never believed in writers' block—until she got it. Drawing on her own experience, and what she's learned from teaching and coaching writing students, she talks about what causes blocks, the different kinds of blocks, and some ways of getting around them.</p><p>Julie will help you identify what's keeping you from writing and learn some techniques to help. She will then open the floor up for discussion in a Q&A. </p><h3>About Julie </h3><p>Julie Cohen is the award-winning, bestselling author of over 25 novels. Her books have sold over a million copies worldwide and have been selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club twice. She has taught creative writing for The Guardian, Hachette, Penguin Random House, Cornerstones, Jericho Writers, and Literature Wales, among others. She has also coached many writers to publication, with some going on to become bestsellers. Julie is a Vice President of the Romantic Novelists' Association and a founder of the Rainbow Chapter for LGBTQIA+ writers.</p><h3>Book your place</h3><p>Tickets cost £18 for NWS Members and £20 for general admission.
