Join us for this workshop with Samantha Webb, Senior Narrative Designer at Frontier Developments, and learn all about how to write engaging and realistic dialogue! This workshop is equally suitable for people curious about general creative writing as well as for budding game writers or film makers!
Together, you will explore:
- What is dialogue?
- What is dialogue in video games games?
- What makes good dialogue or character interaction in games (with examples)
- How to improve your own dialogue writing skills
- Start Writing Your Own Dialogue (with practical exercises)
Attend online or in-person
To make this workshop more accessible to a wider audience, you'll be able to either attend in-person at The Bank Arts Centre in Eye, Suffolk - or online through a webinar.
If you attend in person: You'll have access to a computer in the vault, and will be supported by in-person tutors throughout the programme. Free lunch will be provided ahead of the workshop from 12-1 PM.
If you attend online: You'll be sent a link to the virtual event in the run-up to the workshop. You'll be able to chat with other attendees and the workshop facilitators and meet others on the programme!
We are hosting a second story-telling focused workshop on the same day - don't forget to sign up for it too!
About the Events
This workshop is part of the Elevate:Eye programme at the Bank Arts Centre in Eye. Anyone 14+ who is curious about creative writing or making games can explore tools & tricks, build a network, and learn how to use games to express themselves over the course of 5 Saturdays – with the support of games industry experts.
Elevate:Eye is five-day, fully-funded games development programme from Game Anglia, supported by the Progress Power Community Benefit Fund and Babergh and Mid Suffolk Council.
We’re proud to be bringing this opportunity to Eye in collaboration with The Bank Arts Centre, as part of our mission to make games education accessible and exciting for everyone.
