Event description
Your research and engaging a wider audience...

About this Event

We’re keen to see more contributions from PAHC PGRs to the ’Stories’ section of news.harts.online - writing that responds to: "What’s it like being a researcher at HARTS? Read what our postgraduate students have to say about their research, activities, achievements and ideas that matter to them."

To encourage, motivate and help you think about what you might contribute and how to approach it we’re planning a 'Writing for the Web’ Workshop - led by academic, writer and teacher Dr Jon Greenaway (biog below) with input from the Harts Online team.

Through presentation, practical exercises and discussion the workshop will:

  • share examples of academic writing for the Web;
  • offer writing exercises and triggers that can provide the incentive to write;
  • help you think through what aspects of your research you might want to share
  • and how to actually approach this writing for a wider audience.

The workshop is aimed at postgraduate researchers within the A&H Faculty. All welcome.

About Jon Greenaway

Jon Greenaway is an academic, writer and teacher based in the North of England. He recently completed a PhD that focused on philosophy, theology and the gothic literature of the nineteenth century. He’s also behind @TheLitCritGuy, a social media project that aims to bring critical and cultural theory away from its academic enclave and to the widest possible audience. He writes for a variety of publications online and blogs at https://thelitcritguy.com.
