Read Write Express run workshops for adults who wish to explore writing as a means of improving wellbeing, gaining confidence and moving forward with life.

The workshops provide a nurturing and supportive space to experience different writing and other fun, releasing and relaxing exercises to help participants stimulate their creativity and encourage self-awareness. Writing experience not essential, just a willingness to join in and give it a go.

Writing is optionally shared with the group and participants are encouraged to respond from their own experience of hearing it as oppose to offering a critique. This is the difference between writing for self development and creative writing for literary development. Writing and voicing writing in this way can be therapeutic but these workshops are not group therapy and participants need to be aware of this when choosing what to write or share.

The theme of this workshop is Completing and through reading, reflection, discussing written resources, self-attunement, listening, writing (word-painting) and sharing, we will contemplate the theme. We will be looking at resources that help us consider the process of completing - projects, plans, processes etc - whether this is achievable and how important this can be. For this workshop you will need a notebook and a pen.

The workshop is online via zoom. Please make sure you have downloaded the zoom app to your device which is available here. Also make sure you know which Eventbrite account you have used to make your booking as only that account will provide you with access to the meeting.

The meeting will open at 14:15 to allow participants to join and workshop will start promptly at 14:30.

Narayani Guibarra has a creative writing BA from Birkbeck University where she specialised in poetry and an Msc in creative writing for therapeutic purposes from the Metanoia Institute. She enjoys the synergy between art and poetry and collaborates with artists to create poems from art and art from poems. She has long held an interest in writing for wellbeing and is a trained yoga teacher, sound healer, laughter facilitator and cognitive hypnotherapist & NLP practitioner. She has facilitated classes, workshops, retreats and holidays in yoga and sound for many years and now utilises this experience to help participants access their creative voice for self discovery.
