This weekly workshop is an opportunity for you to explore writing for your wellbeing. It is suitable for beginners.
About the workshops
It is easy to get caught up in everyday life without taking the time to reflect on yourself, your experiences and the world around you. These writing for wellbeing workshops give you the space to do just that.
If you are interested in writing for wellbeing but don’t know where to start, these workshops are for you. You will be guided through a series of themed writing exercises designed to facilitate self-reflection, self-expression and creativity in a friendly, supportive environment.
Combining therapeutic and creative writing approaches, the sessions focus on the writing process not the resulting product, though you may choose to produce poetry, short stories and other creative pieces.
You can disregard spelling and grammar rules and any worries your writing won’t be good enough, everything you produce in the workshop is valuable. Although you’ll be invited to share and discuss your writing, there is no pressure to do so.
The sessions are particularly suitable for beginners.
About your facilitator
Faye has a BA (honours) in English Literature and Creative Writing and an MSc in Psychology. She leads writing for wellbeing sessions in clinical, community and corporate settings. Developed in line with the Creative Health Quality Framework, Faye’s workshops are informed by psychology theory and therapeutic writing research.
Please note:
All writing exercises are designed to explore positive experiences and elicit pleasant emotions. However, as everyone has their own story, some themes and topics may be personally triggering and negative emotions may surface. You may also wish to write about a difficult experience. The workshops are not a form of therapy, and it is important you can keep yourself safe.
