The core principle is the use of writing (in its broadest forms – spoken word, poetry, storytelling, reading, creative writing, journaling) to enable participants to find their voice. Therapeutic writing is different from creative writing – it focusses on writing as part of a process of self-discovery rather than to produce a publishable piece of work. What is important is that like any expressive therapy, those new voices are supported in a safe space. We make no critical judgements on the writing and stories which happen in sessions. Rather, writing enables your own thoughts to be held in forms that allow for careful reflection and possible change
