Welcome to the LSE PhD Academy Eventbrite page.  We host a varied menu of events for LSE doctoral students which range from advanced methodology training and interdisciplinary workshops to professional development events and writing groups.Our programme changes throughout the year but advance details of what is on offer can always be found on the Event and Courses section of thePhD Academy webpages.  This has the complete list of our events, some will require you to use different booking systems for different events.  We are currently in the process of reviewing our booking systems and hope to make it more streamline in the future.The PhD Academy is based on the 4th floor of the Lionel Robbins building where we have a teaching room, common room and office space.  We look forward to meeting you and welcome your feedback, either in person or you can contact us by email at phdacademy@lse.ac.uk or by telephone on 020 7955 6607.

This is a practical 'hands-on' workshop.  To make the most of your day you will need to bring the following:
1) an idea for a paper - preferably one that you plan to write in the near future.
2) two to four papers that have been published RECENTLY in your TARGET JOURNAL (the one you want your paper in).  
Where possible select papers that also cover similar research to your own in terms of methodological approach and subject area.  It is a good idea t pick papers that you thought were well written because during the day you will examine them to guide your writing.
