Writing Workshop

Welcome to the Maastricht Writers Workshop — a friendly, creative community where ideas take shape, stories come to life, and writers can grow together. Whether you’ve been writing for years or are picking up a pen for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Each session starts with a weekly writing prompt, guiding you to explore a theme, idea, or style. You’ll have time to write, share your work with the group, receive constructive feedback, and then revisit your piece for a second round of writing and sharing — hopefully followed by some well-deserved applause.

We know that reading your work aloud for the first time can feel intimidating. That’s exactly why we’re here. The workshop is a relaxed, supportive, and no-pressure space where you can experiment, take creative risks, and find the confidence to share your voice.

There are no rules about genre or style. Poetry, fiction, memoir, short stories, experimental writing — bring whatever you’re curious about.

Most importantly, this is a community. Come ready to write, contribute, listen, learn, and encourage other writers. In return, you’ll receive thoughtful feedback, new perspectives, and a group of people who genuinely want to see your writing grow.
