This is a free virtual workshop that explores our new initiative, the Yellow Card Biobank – a project investigating how we could use the Yellow Card scheme to investigate genetic risk factors behind development of an adverse drug reaction, and how we can use this data to reduce these incidents.

The Yellow Card biobank would recruit patients who have experienced adverse reactions, collect blood or saliva samples from them, and undertake genetic sequencing on those samples. As part of this, we may ask healthcare professionals to help us get in touch with patients who have experienced adverse reactions. We may also ask for help in collecting samples and data about consented participants.

As a practicing healthcare professional, we would like to hear your views at the workshop about the project and the potential for collaboration. Your opinion is valuable to the MHRA and will help shape the development of the potential role of genetics in healthcare & medicines safety monitoring.
