About this event

Embark on a photographic adventure in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This workshop is designed for photographers of all levels, from beginners to those with more experience, who want to capture the essence of Swaledale's dramatic landscapes, charming villages, and vibrant wildflower meadows.

Swaledale is one of the most northerly of the dales and it has perhaps the wildest, most unspoiled scenery in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Many of the villages and tiny hamlets carry the names given to them by Viking farmers who settled here over a thousand years ago.

On this day workshop you will photograph some of the most varied and picturesque landscape scenery in England. There is an exciting mix of natural wonders to photograph, which includes:

· Wildflower meadows

· Amazing waterfalls

· Wide sweeping landscape

· Stone field barns

· Industrial ruins

· Wildlife

Time permitting; we will also discuss digital workflows and the best ways to adjust RAW files. To help us tailor the workshop to meet your needs, a short questionnaire will be sent to you upon booking the workshop. After the workshop, you'll have new skills and knowledge that will help you plan your own seasonal photo shoots.

Organized by

Neil is a professional photographer and educator with over 15 years experience. His interest in photography began in his early twenties while working and travelling in Australasia and Asia. Growing up in the north of England, Neil would escape to the countryside whenever he could. This fascination with the natural world and contrasting environments is at the heart of his landscape photography and an infinite source of inspiration. Neil uses both digital and analogue cameras for his work, which has been published and exhibited internationally. He teaches photography in higher education at University's and Colleges as well as running short courses for all levels in photogrpahy.

On his workshops Neil will give extensive photography tuition while sharing his expertise, knowledge, and experience enabling you too become a better picture taker. This includes group and one to one instruction, demonstrations, feedback along with critiques of your work. The workshops are very practical with constant support in the field while developing yours skills and techniques. All abilities are welcome from beginners to aspiring professionals.

They not only focus on technical aspects of capturing an image but the creative side too - how to develop your eye and make pictures your own. This is something Neil is very passionate about - developing your creative aspects of photography.

Neil’s passion and energy for photography is boundless and he strives to create a collaborative, fun and relaxed environment. With small group sizes you always get personal attention and plenty of time for feedback and guidance.
