About this event

  • 5 hours

A great outdoor creative workshop suitable for all artists with different levels of ability who wish to explore a looser more impressionistic style. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced in skill level, regular one to one tuition throughout the day will teach you lots of new and exciting techniques for landscape painting.

On this workshop I will show you how to quickly combine Watercolour and Gouache in a direct response to subject combined with soft pastel too. The expressive and colourful techniques together with gestural mark making will most certainly inspire you with confidence to have a go yourself with the media of your choice you bring.

The initial group demonstration (about 35/40 mins with tuition) shows you how expressive painting is developed. Using your own chosen drawing or painting media, the Lavender fields with at this special venue with their far reaching views towards the Vale of York and over part of Ryedale is a real inspiration to paint.

A fabulous and rewarding day 'at Yorkshire Lavender' in the heart of Ryedale, North Yorkshire thast every artist enjoys.

A favourite workshop for art students so early booking is highly recommended to secure your place!

About 'Yorkshire Lavender' and your workshop
Yorkshire’s largest lavender farm ‘Yorkshire Lavender’ is The North of England's triple award-winning visitor attraction with the Lavender Farm and Gardens all set within the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The spectacular panoramic views overlooking rural Rydedale landscape fields beyond hillsides of purple Lavender are spectacular. Surrounding you are tranquil gardens and spacious views. There is something for everyone here in such a relaxed atmosphere soaking up the scene painting alongside like minded artists. A wonderful and rewarding painting day indeed.

There are 60 acres of south-facing farmland, just outside Terrington is all part of Yorkshire Lavender.
