Whether it’s your first time tackling one of the UK’s national peaks or you’re aiming to beat a personal best, this is your chance to take on a rewarding physical challenge while making a real difference. Participants can choose to complete all three peaks in a day, or just one or two, making it suitable for different levels of experience and ambition.
The day promises adventure, stunning views, and a sense of achievement as you walk through the Yorkshire Dales. 1000’s attempt the challenge each year, but please note it requires a good level of fitness.
By taking part, you’re not just challenging yourself - you’re supporting The Kula Foundation’s mission to deliver sustainable infrastructure and development programmes worldwide, as well as resources to help organisations improve their social, economic, and environmental impact.

- Sign Up for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks
- Registration: £15 per participant (First 10 signups get 20% off)
- Attempt to fundraise a minimum of £150 for The Kula Foundations mission (You will be sent fundraising material sto help you get started)
- Start Planning and build up your walking capacity
- When: Choose a weekend throughout July 2026 (tell us your preferred weekend when registering) - You can also choose a weekday if this helps
- Meeting Points: Start Time 8:30am (Recommended) - 5pm (Estimate). Meet Ups at Yorkshire Dales National Park Car Park Horton-in-Ribblesdale - Guidance provided after registration. Participants are responsible for travel and accommodation. Carpooling advice available on request (You can talk to fellow participants in the Group Chat)
- Estimated Time: Full challenge 8–12 hours (Depending on Experience); partial challenge varies - Challenge Options: 1, 2, or all 3 peaks

Mountain Info:
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes in three of the highest and most iconic mountains in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Together, they form a classic endurance route celebrated for its scenery and physical challenge.
- Peak/Mountain 1: Pen-y-Ghent – 694 metres
Known for its steep sections and distinctive summit, often tackled first.
- Opportunity to Pitstop at the Base of Ribblehead Viaduct
- Peak/Mountain 2: Whernside – 736 metres
The highest of the three peaks, with a long steady ascent and wide views across the Dales.
- Peak/Mountain 3: Ingleborough – 723 metres
A broad, flat-topped mountain with dramatic limestone features and panoramic views.
Completing all three peaks in one day typically involves around 24 miles (39 km) of walking and approximately 1,585 metres of total ascent, making it a demanding but highly rewarding challenge.
Support & Community
All participants will:
- Be added to our WhatsApp group to connect with fellow participants and share tips, motivation, and updates.
- Receive guidance and resources to help plan your walk and fundraising journey via email.
- Environmental Responsibility: Respect the natural beauty of Mount Snowdon. Do not litter, stay on designated paths, and be mindful of the environment.
- Get post-event support to share photos and stories, boosting your fundraising impact.
What to Bring
- Appropriate Clothing: Dress in layers to accommodate changing weather conditions. Make sure you have a waterproof jacket, warm layers, a hat, and gloves.
- Footwear: Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots with good ankle support are essential.
- Backpack: Bring a small backpack to carry essentials such as water, snacks, a first-aid kit, and any personal items you may need.
- Lunch, Food and Water: It is planned to take small interval breaks in between the trek and please bring your own food and 2L water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Safety and Preparedness: Ensure you are fit to climb and if you have concerns speak to your local GP. Participants will be responsible for their own safety.
- Weather: Keep an eye on the weather forecast for Yorkshire Dales and come prepared for various weather conditions – We have had snow at the peaks
- Fitness: Ensure that you are physically prepared for the trek by engaging in regular physical activity and training. Many people tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks so it is open all, do not under estimate the challenge - it is one of the UK Mountain Challenges.
- Emergency Contact: Share your itinerary and emergency contact details with a trusted friend or family member.

- Suggested target: £350 (though any amount makes a difference).
- Registration fee covers event management support, guidance, and access to resources. All funds raised go directly to The Kula Foundation to support sustainable community development projects. Fundraising materials and tips will be provided upon registration.
