You and Wales / Wales and You

Join us for a hands-on language workshop where stories, memories, and impressions of Wales take centre stage. Hosted by the Welsh Refugee Council and led by educator Mike Chick, this event invites adult migrant learners of English, charity workers, and community educators to explore Welsh culture through shared experiences. 

If you’re an ESOL learner, work with migrant communities, or are curious about new ways to support language learning and wellbeing, this is for you. Come along and experience an ESOL session with a twist! 

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 6–15 November 2025. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
