YOU Book Day
Don’t miss our fabulous Book Day on November 5th at the Lancaster London Hotel in Central London. Our stellar line up of authors will introduce you to some of the best books of this year.
The day begins at 12.30 with a glass of Prosecco and a chance to browse through the author’s books. Literary Legend Margaret Drabble will be on stage first to tell us about her latest novel THE DARK FLOOD RISES and discuss fiction with Polly Samson and Michelle Paver. Polly Samson’s THE KINDESS received rave reviews and Michelle Paver’s first ghost story DARK MATTER was a bestseller. Her second is published next month. Then, Nadiya Hussein, British Bake Off winner will talk about her love of cooking and her sensational new cook book for children BAKE ME A STORY. Clare Balding will be there too. She has also written a new book for children - THE RACEHORSE WHO WOULDN’T GALLOP as well as two bestselling memoirs.
Then we break for a delicious afternoon tea and a chance to get your books signed – invaluable Christmas presents for friends and family. Copies of all of the author’s books will be on sale for you to buy at a reduced rate.
After tea, we are proud to be able to introduce three authors of profoundly honest and moving memoirs. Television broadcaster and trauma specialist Sian Williams has written about her difficulties adjusting to life after breast cancer. The Reverend Richard Coles, one time rock star with the Communards publishes the second volume of his autobiography BRINGING IN THE SHEAVES. And Rachel Kelly, who has written openly about her own post natal depression will be there with her book 52 STEPS TO HAPPINESS, one of the ‘how to’ hit of this year.
Finally we round off the day with our finest young comedian and comedy writer. In PARSNIPS: BUTTERED Joe Lycett offers his very particular take on coping with the nightmares of modern life.
The book day ends at 6pm after another break for the authors to sign your books and you will go home laden with a goodie bag thanks to The White Company.
