Young Systematists’ Forum
Event Information
About this Event
The annual Young Systematists’ Forum represents an exciting setting for Masters, PhD and young postdoctoral researchers to present their data, often for the first time, to a scientific audience interested in taxonomy, systematics, phylogenetics and evolution. This well-established event provides an important opportunity for budding systematists to discuss their research in front of their peers within a supportive environment. Supervisors and other established systematists are also encouraged to attend.

This year the Young Systematists’ Forum will take place over two days (a UK afternoon session on Monday 23rd and a UK morning session on Tuesday 24th November 2020). We hope that by spreading the event out this way, we will be able to bring together as many people from across the world as possible.
We welcome the attendance of non-presenting researchers and students at all academic levels, however we will only accept early-career researchers to present their work (i.e. students and postdoctoral researchers). Space for presenters will be allocated subject to availability and aiming for a balanced programme of talks. All registered attendees will receive further information about the meeting, including abstracts, by e-mail one week in advance. This information will also be displayed on the Systematics Association website.
Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be submitted in English no later than Friday 16 October 2020. Please indicate in the email your name, your institutional affiliation and if submitting for oral or poster presentation.
Please use either of the following templates: MSOffice Word or in Open Doc Format.
The body text should not exceed 150 words in length. Title, authors, and their professional affiliations/addresses should be included with the abstracts. If the presentation is co-authored, the actual speaker (oral) or presenter (poster) must be clearly indicated in BOLD text. The file should be in editable format (.doc or .odt, not pdf) and the file should be called "Surname_First-name_YSF2020.doc", for example "Doe_Jane_YSF2020.doc".
If you have presented a talk at the YSF before, we ask that you submit only for a poster presentation, as speaker slots are limited and we want to give as many people a chance as possible. Please note, we will only accept 1 abstract submission per person.
