Youth Stop AIDS Day of Action
Event Information
About this Event
Nearly 1000 young women contract HIV every day. AIDS-related illnesses are the leading cause of death among young people in Sub-Saharan Africa. Only 52% of children living with HIV have access to lifesaving treatment. The statistics aren’t fiction, they’re reality. Incredible progress has been made but It Ain’t Over yet.
Without our government showing serious commitment to the global HIV and AIDS response – we risk undoing all of our hard work and leaving millions to suffer.
We need you to join us on Wednesday 12th June for our annual Day of Action and call on the UK Government to step up the fight for the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Let’s speak out, take creative action and lobby the government because, together, we can end AIDS by 2030.
What will we be doing?
Creative stunts, training and an exclusive event inside Parliament where you will have the chance to meet your MP on our Global Fund campaign and get them to take action.
Everyone is welcome and it doesn’t matter if you’ve not been involved with Youth Stop AIDS before.
What will the day look like?
10:30 - 11am: Arrival
11am - 1pm: Campaigner training in Waterloo
1pm-2pm: Lunch
2pm-4pm: Creative stunt on Parliament Green
5:15m-6:00pm: Exclusive event with MPs at Parliament
We don’t want the cost of travel to be a barrier to taking part in the day. We have therefore created a small travel fund to support those who need it.
If you have any questions about the day, including accessibility and travel please contact youthstopaids@restlessdevelopment.org
