Chi Ashe Movement
Hello, my name is Cynthia but my Nigerian mother would always pronounce my name Cyn-chi-a. It's funny how chi comes up in such a quirky way. If you are of Igbo descent, you've probably met a few Chis as well. But here's the thing, every person (including yourself) is a "chi" because we all have chi. Chi is the life force that we all carry. Chi is like your personal spirit, your personal divinity. No two people share the same chi, and once you align with your chi, you can manifest so many amazing things into your life. But not a lot of people know about chi or Odinani spirituality in general.
The same can be said for Ifa, which is another African spirituality originating from Nigeria, particularly Yoruba Nation. Ifa is a bit better known due to Latin American spiritual systems like Santería and Candomblé. You've probably heard of Orishas or seen Beyoncé embody Oshun? Ifa and Odinani are two spiritual systems with deep roots and rich cultural traditions.
I'm a certified personal trainer who has had the chance to visit Brazil multiple times. And after each visit, my curiosity about traditional African spirituality grows. Those experiences inspired me to create something that bridges fitness and spiritual reconnection.
My goal is to introduce my audience of curious and open-minded individuals to not only exercise their bodies, but to also exercise their minds. It's ironic how we can carve out time to work out, but we don't really carve out time to study the traditions our ancestors have developed throughout the millennia. With Chi Ashe Movement I bring to you concepts from both spiritual practices all within a one-hour exercise format.
Be prepared to transform your body and spirit. Recall that what happens in the spiritual realm manifests in our physical realm.
